Arrest of IPS Sanjiv Bhatt is a dangerous anti-democratic action by BJP’s Narendra Modi: Sikh Bodies

October 6, 2011 | By

Amritsar (October 05, 2011): The arrest of IPS Sanjeev Bhatt on concocted, frivolous and maneovred charges by Narendra Modi government in Gujarat has exposed the dangerous character of the Bhartiya Janta Party.

Condemning the arrest, Dal Khalsa’s secretary for human rights Prithpal Singh said after engineering the anti-Muslim carnage in 2002, Gujarat CM Narendra Modi, was afraid of getting exposed.

Sanjiv Bhatt, who following his conscience had dared to expose Modi’s heinous and criminal deeds in the apex court, is now being hounded for his forthrightness, said the leader. Though Modi stands exposed, it is time for all democratic forces to stand by Sanjiv Bhatt. He praised Bhatt for showing courage and calling a spade a spade (referring to the reported statement of Bhatt in which he refused to strike an unprincipled compromise with “uniformed criminals”).

Taking a dig at the Hindutva leaders, he said, “This is real picture of BJP’s so-called shining India and Modi’s sadbhavna mission”.

The activist of Sikh group urged the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court to take suo motu notice of the injustice heaped on Bhatt and harassment of his family members. “While all other doors to get justice were closed, the only hope left for the aggrieved family was the judiciary”.

He blamed all those politicians responsible for emboldening Narendra Modi, who took part in his 3-day VVIP hunger strike. He took a dig at politicians including Punjab CM Parkash Singh Badal participated in Modi’s sadbhavna mission despite knowing too well about his tainted past and complicity in the Gujarat carnage”.
