Ludhiana (September 16, 2009) In a recent press statement issued by its’ General Secretary Bhai Harpal Singh Cheema Shiromani Akali Dal (A) Panch Pardhani has said that the recent police raids on the office premises of Shiromani Akali Dal (Panch Pardhani),the illegal detention of the office personnel, framing of criminal cases against party chief Bhai Daljit Singh and his three associates have exposed the true face of the ruling party leaders in Punjab. The police and other agencies of the state have been made use of to tarnish the image of Panch Pardhani and it’s leaders. To say the least the government agencies have left no stone unturned to stigmatize the party and its leaders by implicating them in fabricated and false cases.

Panch Pardhani presidum member S. Harinder Singh Khalsa (Norway), Bhai Kumikar Singh, Bhai Kulbir Singh Barapind and Bhai Daya Singh Kakkar said that We in Panch Pardhani have been functioning as a democratic party and have been striving to educate the masses both in political and religious sphere. We have consistently challenged the fraudulent gurudom concept of Sirsa Dera Head. In fact we have been leading the campaign of the Sikh masses against the notorious Dera chief. And we have done our best to propagate and put into practice the Hukumnama issued by the Akal Takht regarding Dera chief.

Having been unable to browbeat us politically, the SAD/BJP combine in Punjab has resorted to the autocratic use of Punjab Police who spare no effort to create a fear psychosis among our party workers and leaders. The police is being used to harass, terrorize and subjugate our party leaders. It is tragic that with an eye on the ensuing SGPC elections, the Badal government in Punjab is stifling the voice of those who have refused to kowtow them.
