Ajnala/Amritsar: The court of Judicial Magistrate First Class (JMIC) Ajnala Gurpreet Kaur today discharged a woman who was arrested by police in a February 2023 case registered at Ajnala police station against Waris Punjab De (WPD) chief Amritpal Singh and others.
Sources told Sikh Siyasat News (SSN) that Chanpreet Kaur, daughter of Khazan Singh, was taken into custody by authorities on April 14, 2024 from Indira Gandhi Airport in Delhi. She was arrested by Punjab police in FIR No 39/23 registered at Ajnala police station on Feburary 24, 2023 under sections 307, 353, 186, 332, 333, 506(2), 120-B, 427, 148, 140 of Indian Penal Code (IPC).
Chanpreet Kaur, who is resident of Balachar town of Shaheed Bhagat Singh Nagar district, was produced in a Ajnala court on April 15. The court had sent her on police remand till April 17.
Today, Chanpreet Kaur was produced in the Gurpreet Kaur, JMIC Ajnala but during investigation no involvement has been revealed in this case. So the has discharged her from this case, sources court proceedings told Sikh Siyasat News (SSN).
Sources told Sikh Siyasat News (SSN) that police were suspecting that Chanpreet Kaur might have extended help to Bikramjit Singh, a close associate of Amritpal Singh, who is believed to have gone underground.
