Vilvoorde, Belgium: A Gurdwara Sahib in Belgium has reportedly been asked to close down after the Belgian media charged the Gurdwara Sahib for providing food (langar) to alleged illegal immigrants from India. Local sources told Sikh Siyasat News (SSN) that authorities of Vilvoorde area in Belgium have asked the Gurdwara management close the Guru Nanak Sahib Gurdwara for one month.

Media reports say that during a recent raid the police found 11 illegal immigrants in an empty building in the neighbourhood of the Gurdwara Sahib in Vilvoorde.

Hans Bonte mayor of the town reportedly held a meeting with representatives of the Gurdwara Sahib and asked them to take necessary measures to tackle the problem of the illegals immigrants getting food from Gurdwara langar.

Representatives of the Gurdwara Sahib say that the Gurdwara Sahib offers langar (free food) to anybody who comes there without demanding their identity papers.
