New Delhi: Sangrur MP Bhagwant Mann’s move to move an adjournment motion in Lok Sabha to discuss the issue of fake encounters in Punjab were disallowed by house speaker Sumitra Mahajan yesterday.
Aam Aadmi Party MP from Sangrur had given the notice on recent revelations by a cat-turned cop Gurmeet Pinky in which he confessed to having himself witnessed 50 such encounters.
Bhagwant Mann said that he will now will now raise the issue in Zero Hour on Dec. 8.
Meanwhile Punjab Pradesh Congress Ccommittee chief Capt. Amarinder Singh has also demanded an investigation into the matter.
In an interview with journalist Kanwar Sandhu, Gurmeet Pinky revealed the names of senior officers involved in fake-encounters and custodial killings of Sikh youth during the days of Sikh militant movement in Punjab. He also revealed the details of brutal torture of Sikh youth by the Punjab police.
