Amritsar: Bhai Narien Singh Chaura appeared before the court of Additional Judge Surjit Singh in Amritsar today in connection with the attack case involving Sukhbir Badal. Advocate Jaspal Singh Manjhpur also appeared with him.

Sharing information with Sikh Siyasat, Advocate Jaspal Singh Manjhpur said that the case registered under Section 307 in connection with the attack on Sukhbir Badal is currently at the stage of recording evidence.

He said that the testimony of Inspector Harsandeep was expected to be recorded today, but the officer could not appear before the court due to some reason. The court has now fixed November 11 as the next date of hearing.

Advocate Manjhpur said that the proceedings in the case are likely to continue for some time. He further stated that Sukhbir Badal has not yet recorded his statement in the matter.

He added that a petition has also been filed before the Punjab and Haryana High Court seeking the transfer of the case to the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI). According to Advocate Manjhpur, lawyers appearing on behalf of Sukhbir Badal have also not been appearing in that matter.

It is noteworthy that Dharam Singh also appeared along with Bhai Narien Singh Chaura during the court proceedings.

Among those present on the occasion were Shiromani Akali Dal (Amritsar) district president Shamsher Singh Brar, Majitha constituency in-charge Kulwant Singh Kotla, urban youth president Mankirat Singh, and others.
