Ludhiana/Fatehgarh Sahib, Punjab (March 28, 2012): As per information available with Sikh Siyasat, Punjab government led by Badal-BJP combine has instructed the Punjab police to arrest Sikh leaders. Police has already arrested Sikh leader Bhai Daljit Singh Bittu, Advocate Harpal Singh Cheema and S. Jasvir Singh Kandoor. Bhai Daljit Singh is chairman of Akali Dal Panch Pardhani, while Bhai Cheema and Kandoor are secretaries of Panch Pardhani.
As per information from confirmed sources Bhai Daljit Singh was taken into custody late this evening from his Gurdev Nagar Ludhiana situated residence. Bhai Harpal Singh Cheema was arrested with some others from Fatehgarh Sahib. Similarly Jasvir Singh Kandoor was also arrested from his house.
Police is hunting for other Sikh leaders, including Bhai Mandhir Singh, youth leader of Panch Pardhani. More arrested are expected tonight as Punjab government want to silence the political decent.
Sikh Siyasat has confirmed information that Bhai Daljit Singh was arrested after the news of temporary stay on execution of Bhai Balwant Singh Rajoana had already appeared in media. It is notable that Badal Government had kept Bhai Daljit Singh under political detention for last more than two years and he was recently released on judicial intervention.
Sikh Students Federation president Parmjeet Singh Gazi has condemned these arrests. “Badal Government is using police machinery and law as tools of political weapon”.
