Chandigarh: Dissatisfied over the probe conducted by the Punjab police, Bhai Ranjit Singh Dhadrianwale has approached the Punjab and Haryana high court on Thursday (June 02) seeking CBI investigation of the recent incident of attack on his convoy.
Taking up the petition, Justice Fateh Deep Singh has reportedly issued notice to the Punjab government and the CBI to file replies on the contentions raised by Bhai Ranjit Singh Dhadrianwale.
Demanding CBI probe into May 17 attack on his convoy, in which his companion Bhai Bhupinder Singh was killed, Bhai Ranjit Singh Dhadrianwale has submitted that the ruling government and the local police after greasing their hands were acting at the behest of Baba Harnam Singh Dhumma.
According to Times of India, the counsel for Bhai Ranjit Singh Dhadrianwale also submitted before the HC that Baba Harnam Singh Dhumma was not associated in the investigation, though a Tata Safari recovered from the arrested accused belonged to him.
Giving the reasons of his plea for CBI probe, Bhai Dhadrianwale’s counsel claimed before the court that time and again he had held peaceful agitations, requesting the state government to transfer the case to the CBI but no action was taken on his requests.
The case would now come up for hearing on July 7.
