Centre Planning to Impose Kashmir Like Situation in Punjab? Former MP Raises Apprehensions Over Proposed NSG Base

Fatehgarh Sahib: Former member of Indian Parliament and Shiromani Akali Dal Amritsar (Mann) president Simranjit Singh Mann has raised apprehensions over the Indian union government’s proposal to set-up a National Security Guards (NSG) base in Amritsar.

Responding to reports about Union Government’s plans to set-up a NSG base in Amritsar on 120 acres of land, Simranjit Singh Mann raised apprehensions that whether the Indian state was planning to bring Kashmir like situation in Punjab in future?
Notably, people of Kashmir are facing a strict lockdown by Indian forces for nearly two months now.
S. Simranjit Singh Mann also criticised Punjab government for supporting Centre’s plan to open NSG base in Amritsar and agreeing to give 120 acres of land for said purpose.
