The AIIMS assurance came from Health Minister of India Dr. Harsh Vardhan when Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal called on him in Delhi.

In a similar meeting, India’s Urban Development Minister M Venkaiah Naidu reportedly assured Punjab CM of including the historic city of Amritsar in the Centre’s smart city project for holistic development.
