California, USA: Two more California cities have recognised the fact of Sikh Genocide 1984 by adopting formal resolutions in this regard. As per information the City of Fowler and Madera, situated on the outskirts of Fresno passed separate resolutions to recognize the Sikh Genocide 1984. Earlier Fresno had passed a similar resolution.
Bill Nijjer, Kerman City Council member who reportedly played a prominent role in getting the 1984 Sikh genocide resolutions passed in Kerman as well as Fresno posted, “I’m very proud to announce that the City of Madera has passed a Resolution recognizing the 1984 Anti-Sikh Violence as GENOCIDE. Thank you to the Madera citizens who showed great leadership on this great accomplishment. As you may have heard by now, the City of Fowler also passed a resolution last night thanks to a great effort by the Fowler Sangat”.
The resolution in Madera was passed on October 19 while the Fowler resolution was passed on the 18th, notes the Sikh24.
A post by Jakara Movement reads: “1984 Sikh Genocide Resolution just passed in Madera. The baton is being passed up the 99. Would love to see the cities of Livingston, Turlock, Modesto, and even the Bay Area/Sacramento follow suit.
Big #paghsalute to all of our friends and family in the Fresno Area – from Fowler to Kerman, from Fresno to Madera that have worked extremely hard to have this passed – too many to name, but all of your seva is extremely appreciated“.
