“The source said, Bhagwant Mann is likely to be the face of AAP in Punjab and decision regarding inducting him in the party is likely to be announced Wednesday or by Thursday” YesPunjab.com (YP) reports further.

It is pertinent to mention here that Manpreet Badal, who was earlier keen to join hands with Congress in view of upcoming Lok Sabha polls, was later eager to ally with or merge PPP into AAP but the talks didn’t materialise as the Punjab unit of AAP passed a resolution not only rejecting the idea to ally with PPP but also the proposal to merge PPP in AAP.

Bhagwant Mann had in March 2011 joined PPP and unsuccessfully fought February 2012 elections to Punjab Vidhan Sabha from Lehra constituency against former CM and Congress stalwart Rajinder Kaur Bhattal.

As per YP: Bhagwant Mann confirming his meetings with AAP leaders, said that no instatnts deductions should be made. He said that he has been constantly of the view that AAP and PPP should join hands as the approach and the agenda of the two matched. He said that AAP was a ‘shubh sanket’ in Indian politics and he desires that votes of saner people don’t get divided. Asked about AAP Punjab unit’s resolution against alliance with PPP and even the merger of PPP in AAP, Bhagwant said, he was not formally aware of any such resolution.
