Congress Has Failed In Punjab, Says BJP

Chandigarh: As per the media reports the Punjab unit of the BJP here on Tuesday alleged that farmer suicides, unscheduled power cuts and highhandedness by Amarinder Singh lead congress government of the state have become its hallmark in its 6o days of being in power.

Senior party leaders like former minister Madan Mohan Mittal, party vice-president Harjit Singh Grewal, general secretary Manjit Singh Rai and secretary Vineet Joshi held a press conference here on Tuesday.

While interacting with the media persons Madan Mohan stated that “In the first month of the Congress rule, 16 farmers committed suicide, while in the second, 26 ended their life. All this is happening due to the CM’s failure to fulfil pre-poll promise of waiving farm debt,” he said.

The party leaders further claimed that the situation of the power supply is still the same as it was in the past, the people of Punjab are still witnessing unscheduled power cuts ranging from five hours to 22 hours a day.

The party also raised issues such as protests against school fee hike, “Congress-backed” transport and liquor mafia, rising sacrilege cases, and drug menace, said the media reports.
