Curfew imposed at Ludhiana; Sikh called for Ludhiana Bandh on 6 December.

Ludhiana (December 5, 2009): Considering the tense situation at Ludhiana the district magistrate has imposed curfew in areas falling under 9 police stations, covering almost sixty percent of the areas of this city.

District magistrate Vikas Garg, as per some media reports, imposed curfew in Police division no. 1, 2, 3 and 4 and reposed curfews in area covered by five police stations where curfew was imposed after the yesterday’s Bihari violence.

Divya Jyoti Jagriti Sanstahan (DJJS), a dummy dera headed by Ashutosh, organizers are laso ordered to to vacate the place at earliest. Heavy police was deployed outside the venue to protect it.

Meanwhile the Sikhs today imposed bandh in Ludhiana, industrial hub of Punjab. Sikhs have announced to observe complete Ludhiana Bandh tomorrow to protest against misdeeds of Punjab government in protecting and promoting anti-Sikhs sects and deras.
