Amritsar: Dal Khalsa takes exception over the unceremoniously sacking of Takht Damdama Sahib Jathedar and practice of appointing granthis as Takht Jathedar.

Kanwar Pal Singh party spokesperson said it was really sad day for all who are fighting to uphold distinct identity of Sikhs. He said the disturbing role remains of jathedar Akal Takhat. “His silence shows his weakness. He has no moral right to be jathedar of the top temporal seat. I am short of words to condemn Akali Dal for the damage its “unprincipled” politics has caused to Panthic institutions. By showing scant respect for religious institutions, Badals were inflicting wounds on the soul and body of the Panth.
He said instead of framing rules and procedures regarding the appointment, removal, working sphere and jurisdiction of heads of these temporal institutions, the SGPC and SAD has embarked on a course that is detrimental for Panth.
