Milwaukee, Wisconsin: According to information released by United Sikhs, a NGO, it’s helpline named UMEED received a call on September 03, 2012 of information of a death threat given to a Sikh resident of Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
“We are keeping the identity anonymous to protect this individual” said United Sikhs.
“The resident informed us that he knew this individual – identified as a Caucasian male with tattoos on his body, as a social acquaintance. This acquaintance started a discussion with the resident which turned into an altercation where this threat was issued. In the threat, the recent Wisconsin Gurdwara shooting was mentioned with an implication that more lives were at risk.” United Sikhs informed.
According to information the local police, the US Department of Justice-Victim Witness Coordinators Office, the Community Relations Office (CRS) and the FBI were informed by United Sikhs about this matter.
According to United Sikhs the police are looking for the person who made this threat.
“United Sikhs will continue to support the resident and his family and will continue to issue updates as they become available” Kashmir Singh Co-ordinator of UMEED helpline told Sikh Siyasat.
“These threats should be taken seriously by the law enforcement authorities and it is important to report such issues. The Umeed National Helpline is available to assist anyone in need around the clock”, he added.
It is notable that a White supremacist, Neo-Nazi Wade M. Page killed six Sikhs in Oak Creek Gurudwara Sahib in a terror strike on August 05, 2012.
