New Delhi, India (January 30, 2014): It is learnt that Lt. Governor of Delhi Najeeb Jung has reportedly asked Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal to send him a formal proposal if he wants to setup a Special Invesigation Team (SIT) to probe November 1984 Sikh massacre related cases.
“Arvind met me and expressed the wish for a SIT probe into the 1984 anti-Sikh riots. So I have told him to sent me a proposal for the same,” Lt-Gov. Najeeb Jung reportedly told the media.
Earlier on January 29, CM Arvind Kejriwal had met Lt. Governor and said: “sometime next week we will put forward the suggestion to the cabinet and if passed then the proposal would be sent to the LG.”
The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government said the demand for a Special Investigation Team (SIT) probe was a part of their election manifesto.
