January 2, 2015 | By

Amritsar, Punjab: Dal Khalsa has urged the Jathedar Akal Takht not to lower their status and prestige by repeatedly appealing to centre and state governments to release the prisoners who have completed their jail term.

When we see that all pleas of Jathedar to Modi government has fallen on deaf ears, it pains and hurt us, said Kanwar Pal Singh while speaking at a sit-in organized here today to lodge their protest against Union governments lackluster approach and indifferent attitude towards the Sikh prisoners for whose release Bhai Gurbakash Singh has sought.

Addressing the spirited gathering of youngsters, Kanwar Pal Singh said “It seems Jathedar Gaini Gurbachan Singh’s conscience is pricking him and he feels moral obligation to ensure the release of detainees. Felt cheated, Gurbakash has revived his hunger strike and now he has completed 48 days, said he.

Taking a jibe at the Akali Dal Badal for going astray from Panth, he said in the political season and on-going trend of ghar-vapsi, they should also do their ghar-vapsi. “Badals should revert to Panthic agenda in true and real sense, takes pride in being Sikh party, articulate Sikh aspirations, make Sikh identity issues its first priority, pledges to safeguard Sikh and Punjab’s interests and severe ties with BJP. He said if the SAD led by Badals will return to Panthic fold, a lot will change on ground.

Referring to Akali Dal’s dharna, BJP’s anti-drug drive and Congress campaign on drug menace, he said who’s complaining against whom. It’s all fake, he added. He said the conversion row is nothing but human exploitation. Sikhism abhors such practice either by force or greed and we don’t need the services of RSS as Sikhs can see the sinister design behind it. “RSS with state power behind him was exploiting human sentiments”.

Seeking ban on the film Messenger of God, he said Gurmit Ram Rahim was facing cases under heinous charges including rape and murder and forced castration in the Indian courts. He has offended the Sikh community and committed sacrilege. How come such a person is allowed to propagate and portray himself as “Messenger of God”. Slamming the Indian government for its double standards, he said the government banned Kaum de Heere but ironically it has given green signal to a film co-directed by alleged rapist, murderer and habitual offender of law. According to Dal Khalsa, the dera head through this film has aimed to improve his damaged image and influence judiciary.
