Ludhiana, PUNJAB (February 21, 2011): The facts of “Hondh Massacre” of Sikhs during November 1984 reveals whole process of denial under taken by Indian authorities, just to deny the fact of “Sikh Genocide 1984”. A Sikh village, called Hondh Chillar, in Rewari District of Haryana was reduced to ashes and many of its’ inhabitants were burnt alive or otherwise killed. Recently Buta Singh, a senior Congress leader, has accused then CM of Haryana and Congress leader Bhajan Lal for this massacre; which affirms the claims of human rights organizations that genocidal violence against the Sikhs was perpetuated by ‘high ups’ in authority. Initials facts, unearthed by Sikhs for Justice and AISSF after more than 26 years, reveal that the pattern of attack on Sikhs during Hondh Massacre was similar to that followed by killer ‘mobs’ at Delhi and other places. It also shows that how the authorities and judicial system had connived at this massacre, as this incident was never investigated.

“The facts of the Hondh Massacre shows that India is indulged in gross disrespect to the ‘rule of law’” said Advocate Jaspal Singh Manjhpur of Sikhs for Human Rights. “Still Canada thinks that human rights abuses are properly addressed by Human Rights Commissions set up by India?” he asked, while reffering to Canada’s plea in response to Petition moved by Sikhs for Justice, in Canadian Parliament, to get recognition for the facts of “Sikh Genocide 1984”.

“Denial of justice to victims of Hondh Massacre is part of India’s policy to deny the fact of Sikh Genocide 1984” he added.
