DSGMC general secretary urges Sarna to withdrawn petition against Bala Sahib hospital

New Delhi: The Delhi Sikh Gurdwara management committee (DSGMC) has urged former president of the Gurdwara committee Harvinder Singh Sarna to withdraw a petition filed in Delhi High Court challenging the orders of April 18 2014 of the Patiala House court which declared Bala Sahib hospital trust illegal, so that hurdles created in the functioning of the hospital are cleared.
DSGMC general secretary Manjinder Singh Sirsa appealed to Harvinder SIngh Sarna to withdraw petition and a proposal in this regard was sent to him.
Manjinder Sirsa maintained that the petition in the Delhi High Court is creating hurdles in the hospital and poor and needy are devoid of the treatment. He adds that the hospital is being built over the land belonging to the DSGMC and as per the Delhi Gurdwara Act which was created by an act of the Parliament, and Sarna by calling it a personal property had handed over operations of the hospital to private companies which has led to hospital not functioning.

Sirsa said DSGMC had taken the initiative of asking Sarna to withdraw petition and make hospital functional for which a proposal has been sent to Sarna. Handing over a copy of the proposal to media, which was being sent to Sarna to sign before next hearing in the said case fixed for May 21 Sirsa said it would serve larger purpose of the Sikhs and general public.
“After the petition is withdrawn the outdoor patient department (OPD) and general wards of the hospital would start functioning within three months,” said Sirsa apprehending that the hospital building is vulnerable to crime as it has been deserted. Senior vice president of DSGMC Mohinder Pal Singh Chadha, member Jatinder Pal Singh Goldy, Kulmohan Singh, Ravinder Singh Lovely, Darhsna Singh, Chaman Singh, Capt. Inderpreet Singh and youth Akali Dal leader Jaspreet Singh Vicky Mann were also present.
