On November 20, 2012 a special court in Ludhaina, Punjab (India) invoked a draconian law named Terrorists and Disruptive Activities (Prevention) Act, short named TADA, to sentence 12 Sikhs to 10 years rigorous imprisonment in a 1987 case.
Convicts include 93 and 83 years old Sikhs, who were arrested as per orders of the Judge and were sent to jail.
Bapu Assa Singh Ji, 93, had stood on trial in this case for 26 years and on this stage of life he is sentenced to undergo 10 years rigorous imprisonment under a law that expired in about 17 years ago, May 1995.
