Amritsar, Punjab (April 25, 2014) In an expression of mental slavery, Shiromani Akali Dal (Badal) leader Bikram Majithia distorted a verse from a Shabad of Guru Gobind Singh Ji to appease Hindutva ideolauge and BJP candidate from Amritsar Lok Sabha Seat.
Bikram Majithia did so while demanding votes for Arun Jaitly, who recently showed up his anti-Sikh mindset again by hosting his office in building named after slain Hindu extremist Harbans Lal Khanna. Harbans Lal Khanna was responsible for damaging a portrait of Guru Ram Das Ji and model of Darbar Sahib in February 1984.
Bikram Majithia, a close relative (wife’s brother) of Punjab Deputy Chief Minister Sukhbir Badal distorted much quoted “shabad”: (“Deh siva bar mohe eh-hey subh karman te kabhu na taro”) written by the 10th Sikh Guru, Guru Gobind Singh.
“Instead of saying ‘Nischay kar apni jeet karo’ at the end, Bikram Majithia said ‘Nischay kar Arun Jaitley ki jeet karo’.”
Bikram Majithia’s blasphemous utterance is being widely criticized by Sikhs.
