Chandigarh: Thirty one farmers’ unions, active in Punjab, have been protesting against new agricultural legislation passed by government of India.
After the GoI extended invitation to these organisations to hold talks, 29 farmers’ unions today announced to participate in the talks.
Another union, BKU (Ekta Ugrahan) already announced yesterday to participate in talks.
One of these 31 unions, Kisan Mazdoor Sangharsh Committee has not yet decided to participate in talks or not.
Talks are set to be held in New Delhi tomorrow (14 October). Meanwhile, farmer unions have extended their protests to October 15.
