Harminder Singh Mintoo Acquitted in Halwara Airforce Base Recovery Case (2010)

Ludhiana: The court of Additional Sessions Judge, Ludhiana Amarinder Singh today acquitted Sikh Political Prisoner Bhai Harminder Singh Mintoo in a 2010 recovery case.

The case registered under F.I.R. number 8/2010 (Sidhar Police station) under sections 4 and 5 of Explosives Act was related to alleged recovery of explosives in a car near Halwara Airforce Base on January 24, 2010.

Advocate Jaspal Singh Manjhpur said that this case was primarily registered against Bakhsish Singh, Harjant Singh, Jasvir Singh Manki and Pargat Singh and Harminder Singh Mintoo was attached with this case under section 120-B (Conspiracy) of Indian Penal Code.

“All other persons framed by the police were already acquitted by the trial court in this case in 2013 and Bhai Harminder Singh Mintoo was acquitted today”, said Advo. J S Manjhpur, who also maintains the list of Sikh political prisoners.
