Harinder Singh Khasla indicates favour for Sukhpal Khaira’s induction to Aam Aadmi Party

Fatehgarh Sahib: Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) MP Harinder Singh Khalsa has reportedly denied reports that he had backed the proposal to bring Congress spokesperson Sukhpal Singh Khaira into the party fold, even as he maintained that the party should welcome all those who subscribe to its ideology of fighting corruption and the VIP culture in the country.

“As for his endorsing Khaira’s entry, he said, he knew the latter’s father well”, notes The Tribune (TT).

Sukhpal Khaira, former Congress MLA from Bholath, is expected to join the Aam Aadmi Party. Sukhpal Khaira, a bitter critic of the Badal-BJP ruling alliance, publicly expressed his willingness to join the Aam Aadmi Party when he wrote on his Facebook wall (on Feb. 27): “Friends, today I held a small workers’ meeting of my area to ascertain the views of people who have been pressuring me to join AAP. I received an overwhelming response from them and I wish to know the sentiments of my friends across the world on FB as well. Please advise. (sic)”

Sukhpal Khaira is learnt to have held meetings with AAP’s state convener Sucha Singh Chhotepur.
