New Delhi: A court in Delhi today convicted Sikh political prisoner Harminder Singh Mintoo in a case related to his arrest in Delhi after November 2016 Nabha Jail Break. A case was registered in Delhi wide FIR No. 66/16 under sections 186, 353 (IPC), 25, 27, 54, 59 of Arms Act.
After Harminder Singh Mintoo made confession in this case, Judge Sidharth Sharma convicted him in this case and awarded three months jail in Section 186 IPC. Judge awarded him a jail term equal to already undergone sentence under sections 353 (IPC) and under respective sections of the Arms Act.
It is learnt that the trial of this case was being held at Delhi and it was difficult for Harminder Singh Mintoo to attend court proceedings given his health problems. He had moved an application in the court to make a confession in this case, that was accepted by the court.
