New Delhi, India: After continuing hospitalization of Gurbaksh Singh Khalsa by Ambala administration on January 09, the Haryana police reportedly pressurized Sikh activists to shift the base of their hunger strike out of Hayrana state. Gurbaksh Singh Khalsa’s family had volunteered hospitalization after he developed breathing problem on January 09. He was on hunger strike since November 14, 2014.
Gurpreet Singh Guri who was acting as press secretary of Gurbaksh Singh Khalsa updated that Haryana police had pressurized the management committee of Gurdwara Lakhnaur Sahib, as a result the committee members asked Sikh activists of Bandi Singhs Rihai Morcha to leave Gurdwara Lakhnaur Sahib.
Gurpreet Singh Guri told Sikh Siyasat News (SSN) over phone that he along Gurpiar Singh, who had started hunger strike after hospitalization of Gurbaksh Singh Khalsa, along with other activists decided to shift the base of hunger strike to Jantar Mantar in Delhi.
As per information three Sikh activists, including Gurpiar Singh, Gurpreet Singh and Charanpreet Singh Dhaliwal sat on hunger strike at Jantar Mantar today (January 12) at around 11 am. Gurpreet Singh Guri belongs to a village in Ludhiana district, where as Gurpiar Singh hails from Faridkot district in Punjab. Charanpreet Singh is a resident of Delhi.
On being asked about nature of the hunger strike Gurpreet Singh Guri said that they were yet to decide this point. “We had to shift the base of morcha in ‘emergency’, so we did not deliberated on this point. We shall soon decide about the nature of hunger strike” Guri told Sikh Siyasat News (SSN).
