Chandigarh: Former Member of Parliament and president of Shiromani Akali Dal Amritsar (Mann) S. Simranjit Singh Mann was on Sunday (Dec. 30) disallowed to visit Kashmir.
It is learnt that S. Simranjeet Singh Mann was scheduled to visit Kashmir Valley but was disallowed from Ramban area, where officials had asked him not to move towards Kashmir as there are apprehensions of law and order situation due to his visit.
S. Mann was reportedly scheduled to visit the southern Kashmir where he was schussed to meet the families of those whose beloved were killed in the recent past. He was accompanied by political and social workers but the officials disallowed him to visit Kashmir by saying that said that they can’t endanger life and properties of citizens.
Sikh leaders were also scheduled to meet pro-freedom Kashmiri leaders of joint Resistance Leadership (JRL).
S. Mann said that that the Indian authorities have turned Kashmir into ‘a big jail’ as Valley is the most militarized zone across the world.
He has also said that Kashmiris are fighting for right cause and nobody can suppress them.
