How could Amarinder Singh claim that he was not tortured. Was CM himself present during his entire interrogation? Only the victim of police torture could tell the truth which could be tested through timely medical examination by the board” he said while adding further that the police had played a trick in order to avoid legal representation of Jagtar Singh Johal on November 10 as he was presented before a magistrate in Moga instead of Baghapurana.

If police had not tortured Jagtar Singh Jaggi in custody, then why the state and the police opposed the plea for independent medical examination of Jagtar Singh Jaggi in the Baghapurana court. “The way Punjab government opposed our application for independent medical examination, it shows that they had something to hide. Otherwise they might have agreed to the examination by a board of 3 doctors and the report would have settled down this issue”.

He claimed that Capt. Amarinder Singh’s statement is in fact baseless and insisted that the police had tortured Jaggi during police custody.
