Chandigarh: Former president of All India Sikh Students Federation (AISSF) Karnail Singh Peer Mohammad today joined Shiromani Akali Dal (Taksali), a splinter group of Shiromani Akali Dal (Badal). Karnail Singh Peer Mohammad was included in SAD (T) by party chief Ranjeet Singh Brahampura along with other senior leaders, including Rattan Singh Ajnala and Sewa Singh Sekhwan.
Sewa Singh Sekhwan said that the SAD (Taksali) will nwo reorganise AISSF in schools and colleges. He said that Peer Mohammad did “great service” to the AISSF but as the name of the organisation demands, it should be a students body. Therefore SAD (T) had decided to organise the AISSF in schools and colleges.
On being asked by journalist about his plans to contest upcoming elections, Karnail Singh Peer Mohammad said that he has joined SAD (T) as a worker and will do whatever the party leadership would ask him to do.
In reply to a query that Karnail Singh Peer Mohammad had close relations with Gurpatwant Singh Pannun of the Sikhs For Justice and as he is now party of SAD (T) whether SAD (T) also endorses SFJ’s “Referendum 2020” move, Sewa Singh Sekhwan said that everybody is asked to read and agree with the constitution of the SAD (T) before taking anybody into party ranks. He said that as Karnail Singh Peer Mohammad is now part of SAD (T) he will follow the party line on any issue. On being asked that what’s party line on Referendum 2020 issue, SAD (T) leaders said that it would take time to explain it and anybody interested to know about it can read SAD (T) constitution.
Karnail Singh Peer Mohamamd said that he had worked with various individuals and groups but now being part of SAD (T) he would follow SAD (T) guidelines.
