Sri Nagar, Kashmir (February 11, 2013): As per information the occupant Indian authorities in internationally disputed area of Kashmir have decided to continue with Curfew on third consecutive day (on Feb. 11 – Monday). The Curfew was clamped on February 09, 2013 after the execution of Afzal Guru in Tihar Jail of Delhi.
Meanwhile there are reports of a causality as a boy has died of his wounds on Monday after being shot by security forces in Kashmir at a protest over the hanging of Afzal Guru.
As per Hindustan Times (HT): “Ubaid Mushtaq, who doctors say was 12 or 13 years old, died around 3am at Srinagar’s main hospital after suffering bullet wounds in the protest on Sunday at Watergam, a senior hospital official said on condition of anonymity”.
According to a news report by Rising Kashmir : “On Sunday in Rafiabad area of Baramulla district, four persons were injured, two of them critically, when paramilitary forces allegedly fired upon protesters on Sopore-Watergham road”.
“Sajad Ahmad Bhat, a class 11 student, son of Zahoor Ahmad Bhat and Ubaid Ahmad Rather, son of Mushtaq Ahmad Rather, were rushed to SKIMS Srinagar from district hospital Baramulla after receiving bullet injuries in head and thigh. Sajad was stated to be in critical condition when reports last came in”, Rising Kashmir report reads further.
Watergam is a village close to the hometown of Mohammed Afzal Guru, a Kashmiri Muslim who was executed on February 09, 2013 at a jail in New Delhi after being convicted by Indian Courts for helping to plot the 2001 attack on the Indian parliament.
HT has reported with reference to an unnamed police source that the youngster had already been buried in his home village and around 3,500 mourners had attended the funeral service”.
