Police claims to kill two in alleged ‘police encounter’ in Ludhaina

Ludhiana, Punjab: The Ludhiana police have claimed to have killed two proclaimed offenders in an alleged encounter. The incident reportedly took place today in Jamalpur colony in Ludhiana.

A team of police raided a house at Jamalpur colony to arrest two person who were declared proclaimed offenders (PO) in a case of attempt to murder, claims the police.

GunAccording to India TV News the victims were identified as brothers, Jatinder Singh and Ravinder Singh.

The police claims that duo were reportedly wanted by Machiwara police in Khanna police district in a case of attempt to murder.

It is notable that in a recent judgement the Supreme Court of India (SCI) made it mandatory to hold independent investigations of all alleged police encounters resulting in death/s.

“When contacted, SSP Khanna Harsh Bansal said the police is investigating the incident and a case will be registered later”, says Indian TV News report.
