Mann Dal opposes Yoga Day; Simranjeet Singh Mann asks Sikhs to practice gatka

Jalandhar: As per media reports, Shiromani Akali Dal (Amritsar) has asked Sikhs to oppose the International Yoga Day being celebrated on June 21 and appealed them to take part in ‘gatka’.
The party’s president and former MP Simranjit Singh Mann said that the ‘Gatka’ was started to train people in self-defence.

He claimed that the game makes ‘our mind sound and strong and we should practice it on a regular basis’, notes a news reported by the Hindustan Times (HT).
Notably, the BJP led government in India has announced to observe June 21 as “Yoga Day”.
