Ludhaina, Punjab (December 19, 2013): As per information a meeting took place Punjab’s chief minister Parkash Singh badal and three members of the committee conducting the affairs of Bandi Singhs Rihai Morcha (Amb Sahib). According to information the three members of the committee conducting morcha were Bhai Harpal Singh Cheema, Advocate Amar Singh Chahal and Bhai R. P. Singh.
According to senior journalist Karamjeet Singh Chandigarh’s news-report published by a Punjabi vernacular (Daily Pehredar) Badal Dal leader Prem Singh Chandumajra, who played the role of mediator for this meeting was also present in this meeting.
The morcha leaders reportedly met Parkash Singh Badal to discuss the way out for securing release of six Sikh political prisoners who are being kept in jails beyond the terms of their sentences.
As per information CM Parkash Singh Badal was informed that the state government had recently objected to parole to three Sikh prisoners, namely Gurmeet Singh, Shamsher Singh and Lakhwinder Singh, who are lodged in the Burail jail since 1995.
However CM Badal expressed ignorance about any such move.
According to information CM Badal assured the morcha representatives to resolve the issue at the earliest.
While talking to Sikh Siyasat News (SSN) Bhai Harpal Singh Cheema said that the Punjab government could get all of them released in one day in case they have a strong will; but currently no one is ready to take the case at the political level.
