New Delhi: The Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) which is considered as fountain head of the ‘pro-hindutva’ politics in the Indian sub-continent will have its chief Mohan Bhagwat addressing a public meeting here on October 25 regarding the year-long celebrations across the country to mark Guru Gobind Singh Ji’s 350th Gurpurab.
As reported by the media sources the meeting is said to be organised by RSS affiliate Rashtriya Sikh Sangat an off-shoot of the RSS made with the purpose of assimilation of the Sikh panth into Hindutva fold. For that purpose the basic trick used by the ‘pro-hindutva’ organisation is to propagate Sikh Gurus as “Indian nationalists” and “savior of Sanatan Dharma from Islamic Mughals”. Rashtriya Sikh Sangat has organised series of events as part of the celebrations in the past as well.
It is reportedly said that the attendees will include Patna Sahib head priest Giani Iqbal Singh and the chiefs of various sects, including the Nirmal Panth. “Bhagwat’s presence will give further momentum to the celebrations,” reads the statement of Sangat’s secretary Avinash Jaiswal published in The Tribune (TT).
