November 1984: A Story of Legacy of Courage, Bravery and Fortitude of Sikhs at Ner Chowk (HP)

After the assassination of Indira Gandhi in 1984, an anti-Sikh wave swept across India, reaching even Ner Chowk in the Mandi district of Himachal Pradesh. In the midst of this turmoil, the Sikh community of Ner Chowk displayed remarkable courage and intelligence, successfully preventing major harm.

Tehal Singh, a survivor and eyewitness to the mob attack on the local Gurdwara Sahib, vividly recalls those events. Drawing strength from the Sikh tradition of bravery, he fought back against the violent mobs with extraordinary courage.

This interview reveals the hitherto untold story of Ner Chowk — a testament to resilience and faith in the face of hate.
