Vikash Yadav, an official with India’s Research and Analysis Wing (R&AW), has been indicted by the U.S. Justice Department in a New York court for attempting and conspiring to carry out a murder-for-hire of a U.S. citizen Sikh activist on American soil. The attempt was thwarted by U.S. authorities. The FBI has since declared Yadav as wanted. The U.S. is expected to seek his extradition.
Meanwhile, India recently announced an agreement with China to restore the pre-May 2020 patrolling situation along the Line of Actual Control (LAC) in the disputed border region of Ladakh. During media interactions, India’s Minister of External Affairs, S. Jaishankar, emphasized India’s longstanding ties with Russia, highlighting its importance as a key source of resources in the current geopolitical landscape.
