All India Sikh Students Federation president Karnial Singh Peermohammad told Times of India on Monday that Federation has registered a strong protest of liquor brand Punjaban Rasbhari manufactured in factory of an Akali MLA.

“Punjaban means Punjabi women which is seen with respect everywhere but the name Punjaban Rasbhari of a liquor has put a blotch on Punjab as well as on the image of Punjabi women” he said adding that he wondered as to how the excise and taxation department of state government could give its approval to sell liquor with this name.

“This is an insult of Punjabi culture and if the brand is not banned then we will launch a state wide agitation” said Karnail Singh Peer Mohammad.
