Mumbai/ New Delhi: Hindutva government led by Bhartiya Janta Party (BJP) is in place in the Center but Hindutva outfits are adopting ‘legal route’ to get Amir Khan’s latest movie PK – banned from screening in India. In recent days two FIRs were registered against PK lead actor Amir Khan and director Raj Kumar Hirani for allegedly disgracing Hindu gods and Hindu religion in general and Hindu god ‘Shiv’ in particular.
Earlier, people anger was seen across social networking websites like twitter and Facebook.
Claiming that the makers of PK have portrayed Hindu Lord Shiva in a bad light, Secretary of Hindu Legal Cell, Prashant Patel, has now reportedly filed an FIR against Aamir Khan, director Raju Hirani, producers Sidharth Roy Kapur and Vidhu Vinod Chopra. Patel says in the FIR that there are disapproving comments in the film about Hindu rituals which are hurtful. The dialogue ‘Jo darta hai vo hi mandir jaata hai’ has been reportedly specially mentioned in the FIR.
Prashant Patel said that an FIR has been registered by Delhi police on his complaint and police is ‘investigating’ the matter. He further said that if the police fails to take appropriate action, Hindu Legal Cell will move to the court.
Along with this the Hindu Jana Jagriti Samithi is running an online campaign against PK which includes different hashtags like #WeSupportPK and #WeBoycottpk and the tags are now trending across Twitter.
As per the latest updates on Movie PK, a lawyer named K Karunasagar has also filed a complaint against the Movie.
When media reached producer Vidhu Vinod Chopra of the movie PK then in relation to this he said, Movie “PK” had hurt their religious sensibilities as there were several scenes which insulted Hindu religion.
Interestingly Hindutva bodies did not raise their ‘ban demand’ before the BJP government.
