Amritsar/ Chandigarh: A pro-freedom Sikh group named the Dal Khalsa issued a ‘policy statement’ (copy available with SSN) on Indian elections today. The statement was issued in wake of Indian parliamentary elections, polling for which is due to be held in East Punjab on May 19.
Reiterating the establishment of sovereign Sikh state as its political goal the Sikh groups has announced to reject the Indian elections.
Declaring that “the Indian elections are colonial in nature, feudal in character and ultra-nationalistic in approach”, the Dal Khalsa said that the choice Indian elections offer is “between the devil and the deep sea”. “The minority representation that we get upon electoral victory leads to nowhere”, said Dal Khalsa.
