Ramandeep Singh and Hardeep Singh Shera sent to jail; 1 Day Police Remand of Jimmy Singh in Amit Sharma Case

Moga/ Ludhiana: Ramandeep Singh and Hardeep Singh Shera, who were arrested by Baghapurana police few days back, were sent to jail under judicial custody today. Defence council Advo. Jaspal Singh Manjhpur said that duo were presented before a magistrate by Baghapurana police who committed them to police custody.

“Given the fact that the Punjab police has made statements about their alleged involvement in other cases also, I suspect that the police belonging to those police stations could take them on remand anytime”, he added.
One Day Police Remand of Jimmy Singh in Amit Sharma Case
Jimmy Singh @ Taljit Singh, who was arrested by Baghapurana police from IGI Airport in Delhi on October 31, was produced before the court of Rajinder Singh Nagpal, JMIC*, Ludhiana in case FIR no. 6/17 (dated: 15 January 2017) u/s 302/34 IPC, 25 and 27 Arms Act and section 10, 13 and 14 UAP Act. The case registered at police station Division No. 8 Ludhiana pertains to killing of Shiv Sena leader Amit Sharma.

The police demanded 10 days remand of Jimmy Singh alleging that he was involved in conspiracy behind the killing of Amrit Sharma. The plea was opposed by defence council Advocate Jaspal Singh Manjhpur who argued that Jimmy Singh was in UK when the incident had taken place and there was no logic for granting police remand for 10 days. After hearing arguments of both sides, the magistrate sent Jimmy Singh to police remand for 1 day.
