Amritsar, Punjab (August 25, 2014): Dal Khalsa today slammed the executive committee of the SGPC for taking U-turn on the issue of controversial chartered accountant SS Kohli.
Party spokesperson Kanwar Pal Singh said the executive committee in a resolution no 1542 adopted on 11th July terminated the services of Kohli, however, within less than 24 hours succumbing under pressure from Badals, the SGPC head Jathedar Avtar Singh re-inducted him and little over a month’s time, the executive in its meet on 23rd August at Fatehgarh Sahib has endorsed his re-induction.
Quoting the contents of the resolution, he said the SGPC fired him citing various reasons that includes his failure to perform his duty with fairness and seriousness, ignoring orders of president and executive and interfering unnecessary in the administrative working of the institution beside the negative coverage in the media because of his (Kohli) appointment. He wondered whether the executive have cleared Kohli from all these accusations leveled against him in the said resolution before reinstating him.
Kanwar Pal Singh called the executive committee as lame-duck and criticized them for their sommersault and asked them to quit if they can’t discharge their role and responsibilities in an independent manner free from pulls and pressures of the political bosses. “All of them are responsible for ruining the significance of the institution”.
