Rubbishing Badal’s malicious propaganda, Dal Khalsa said AAP and pro-freedom groups are ideologically poles apart

January 30, 2017 | By

Chandigarh: Dal Khalsa today hits out at CM Parkash Singh Badal and his son Sukhbir Singh Badal for their allegedly ‘malicious propaganda’ that AAP and so-termed radicals groups were one and the same thing.

The pro-freedom Sikh group said: Dal Khalsa is of the view that AAP and the pro-freedom Sikh groups to whom the state and media loves to dub as ‘radicals’, were ideologically poles apart. Even as AAP is a pro-India party with nationalistic character whereas pro-freedom Sikh groups stand for a sovereign Punjab- independent of India.

While reacting to the vague accusations leveled by Sukhbir Badal and Parkash Singh Badal, the party leaders H S Dhami and Kanwar Pal Singh said the father-son duo were raising the bogey of unrest to instill fear psychosis in the minds of Hindus. They said clubbing AAP with pro-freedom groups is a sinister design by Badals to kill two birds with one stone.

‘About AAP, they made amply clear that their’s group don’t consider this newly born party as pro-Punjab and pro-Panth’.

Clarifying further, they said in real terms there were only two parties in Punjab which clearly stands for goal of independence – Shiromani Akali Dal (Amritsar) and Dal Khalsa. “Simranjit Singh Mann and his group is contesting their own election whereas Dal Khalsa has resolved not to participate in this electoral façade of democracy”. “We strongly believe that the elections can’t be substitute for the goal of independence”.

Kanwarpal Singh said that the good numbers of Sikhs who were disillusioned with SAD and has turned towards AAP were being wrongly portrayed as “radicals” by Badals for obvious reasons. Referring to the individuals who have recently joined AAP’s bandwagon, he said SGPC members Sukhdev Singh Bhaur and Advocate Jaswinder Singh, both have an ‘Akali’ background. Till recently, they were associated with the Badal-led party. Isn’t it strange that the moment they have left SAD and joined AAP, they have been dubbed as radicals, they wondered?

Dal Khalsa leaders said apart from them, there are some preachers and religious personalities who in their pursuit to teach Badals a lesson for various sacrilege incidents and denigrating religious institutions, have opted for AAP as a viable alternative. “These persons can best be termed as reformists and devout Sikhs having religious bent of mind and not the hardliners by any stretch of imagination”, they said.

Reacting to the Badals speculative apprehensions that Punjab would be back to the unrest era if his party will be voted out of power, they said the people of Punjab have faced worst times under Badals’ misrule when beadbi incidents rocked the state and every ‘God-believing’ person was hurt and pained over the incidents.

Taking a jibe, he asked senior Badal to explain whether his act of burning the Article 25 of the Constitution in 80′ of last century was radical or moderate?
