SGPC to launch relief camp in Nepal to help the earthquake victims

Amritsar, Punjab: A SGPC team is surveying in Nepal about the needs of people effected by last week’s massive earthquake. Talking in this regard, SGPC president Avtar Singh Makkar said that the SGPC will chalk out a strategy for extending humanitarian aid to the effective people in more efficient way on the basis of report to submitted by the surveying team.

Currently, a relief camp is being conducted at a Gurudwara Sahib in Kathmandu, said Avtar Singh Makkar.

He said that the Gurudwaras in Nepal are totally safe. These Gurudwaras are related to Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji.

SGPC has opened a special office in Bhai Gurdas Hall (Amritsar) to regulate it’s humanitarian aid mission in Nepal.

SGPC chief said that bhog of Akhand Paath Sahib held in the memory of victims of the Nepal earthquake disaster will be held at Gurdwara Manji Sahib (Darbar Sahib, Amritsar) on May 02.
