Sikh bodies pledge to intensify Bapu Surat Singh’s struggle for the release of Sikh political prisoners

Ludhiana: Various Sikh organizations recently held a meeting at Bapu Surat Singh Khalsa’s house in village Hassanpur to chalk out their strategy to build public movement in support of Bapu Surat Singh’s struggle for the release of Sikh political prisoners.

Coordinator of the ‘Sangharsh Committee’ S. Gurdeep Singh Bathinda took serious note of ADCP Mukhwinder Singh Bhullar and ASI Gurtej Singh’s abusive language against Great Sikh martyr of 20th century, Sant Jarnail Singh Ji Khalsa Bhindranwale.

He said that the real face of Badal Government was exposed by its failure to take action against police officers who used abusive language against Sant Jarnail Singh. He criticized the Punjab police for thrashing out Bapu Surat Singh Khalsa’s song Ravinder Jit Singh Gogi on his appearance before a Ludhiana court.

Family members of Bapu Surat Singh Khalsa told Sikh Siyasat News (SSN) over phone that Bapu Surat Singh’s health condition is stable but he is physically very weak now. Bapu Surat Singh’s daughter Bibi Sarvinder Kaur told SSN that her father is firm about his decision to continue with his under strike till the concerned Sikh political prisoners are released.

Gurdip Singh Bathinda said that the ‘Sangharsh Committee’ has pledged to take strong steps to build mass movement for release of Sikh political prisoners. He said that future course of action will be announced in coming day.
