July 30, 2019 | By

Chandigarh: Three Sikh groups namely Dal Khalsa, United Akali Dal and Shiromani Akali Dal Amritsar (Mann) held a gathering at Kisan Bhawan (Sector 35A, Chandigarh) on July 26, 2019 to deliberate on continued loot of river waters, resurfacing of SYL canal row, letting off four police convicts by state Govt, refusing to release Sikh political prisoners who have completed life sentence , making UAPA 1967 more draconian, giving unbridled powers to NIA, derailing Bargari Beadbi case and infringement of state’s right by the centre. The meeting decided to protest against injustices, discriminations and suppression of rights on August 15.

“August 15 symbolises India. We will stage a protest on that day as all these contentious issues are directly linked to Indian laws, parliament and Govt’s – that are anti-Sikhs”, said Kanwar Pal Singh, Spokesperson of the Dal Khalsa.

“They are killings ours aspirations to strengthen Indian stranglehold on Sikhs. We have decided to resist such moves, said Kanwar Pal Singh, who addressed Press meet on behalf of three parties.

Governments, both at Centre and state level are least bothered about hurt feelings of Sikhs. They don’t want to unmask Sacrilege conspirators. CBI and SIT both organs of the state are producing conflicting and confusing results. Panth never trusted CBI, Badal’s pass on the probe to CBI to save their skin. At the end of the day, Justice eluded the Sikhs, said he.

The meeting gave a clarion call to the people of the state to observe August 15 as black day and stay away from celebrations.

To mark their protest, the members of three organisations have decided to stage protest march on India’s 72nd Independence Day. To convey their message, they would carry black flags and placards in their hands.

A grave injustice is being done to Punjab by the successive union governments’, the leaders of these Sikh groups said. The feeling of oneness for this country has been lost, they added.

Representatives of other political, students and youth groups had also participated in the discussion which proceeded the press conference.
