New Delhi: Bhai Daya Singh Lahoriya, a Sikh political prisoner confined in Delhi’s Central Jail Tihar, has filed a petition in the Delhi High Court seeking medical assistance from an Ayurvedic doctor.
The petition says that the Tihar Jail administration is allowing services of Ayurvedic doctors in other wards but the services are not allowed in high security wards 8 and 9.
As per the petition Bhai Daya Singh Lahoriya has said that he is suffering from serious ailments and orthopaedic doctor has recommended him to take bath in warm water. The petition says that despite repeated requests, the jail administration was not providing him warm water for taking bath.
Bhai Daya Singh Lahoriya’s lawyer Advocate Harpreet Singh said that the High Court has issued notice to the Delhi government and other respondents. He said that January 25 is fixed as next date of hearing.
