Chandigarh: Sikh Siyasat Editor, Parmjeet Singh, explains the issue of Satluj Yamuna Link Canal with reference to current debate on the controversial canal and Punjab Assembly’s recently passed law to de-notify and return the SYL land to Punjab farmers from whom the land was acquired. He also analyses the role various political parties on this issue and emphases on the need of undoing the damage caused to Punjab’s interests by section 5 of the Punjab Termination of Agreements Act. This section had assured the outflow of Punjab’s river waters to non-riparian state of Rajasthan, Haryana and Delhi.
