Suspect Arrested in Edinburgh Gurdwara Sahib Arson Attack Case

Edinburgh: A man has been arrested in relation to an arson attack on Guru Nanak Gurdwara Sahib in Edinburgh. The Tuesday’s incident had left doors of the Gurdwara Sahib damaged while one one was injurred and no further damage to Gurdwara Sahib’s premises.
A Police Scotland statement said: “Police in Edinburgh have arrested a 49-year-old man as part of their investigation into a suspicious fire at the Sikh [Gurdwara] in Sheriff Brae during the early hours of Tuesday 28th August.
“Enquiries into this incident are continuing”, the statement notes.
Members of the Sikh community condemned the suspected hate attack, and Scotland’s Justice Secretary Humza Yousaf said he was “saddened” by the incident.
