Chandigarh: After the Shiromani Akali Dal (Badal) slammed the Aam Aadmi Party led Delhi government for withdrawing even second affidavit on SYL issue from the Supreme Court of India, the Delhi government now maintains that the affidavit was not fully withdrawn and it would be resubmitted after making due alterations.
Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal’s media incharge Nagendra Sharma told Sikh Siyasat News (SSN) that the first affidavit was submitted to the SCI by Delhi govt’s counsel Suresh Kumar Tripathi without concurrence of Delhi’s water minister. He said that the second affidavit filed by the Delhi government had a reference to Suresh Kumar Tripathi’s conduct.
“During a recent hearing, Mr. Suresh Kumar Tripathi told SCI that he was ready to withdraw from the case- therefore the SCI directed the Delhi government to amend the second affidavit to withdraw reference to Tripathi’s conduct”, said Nagendra Sharma.

“So the affidavit is withdrawn in accordance with direction of the Supreme Court and it will be refiled after making required alterations”, he added.
“The Aam Aadmi Party’s stand on the issue is that the construction of SYL was not possible in present situation and the Delhi government’s stand is that Delhi should get its share from river water of Punjab” he said.
